Description:

In its 15th year, this library fundraiser features original valentines and a variety of other greeting cards, made by local artists, for sale. Hearts & Art will also include hand-painted flowerpots for sale, delectable sweets, live entertainment, craft demos by local artisans, an extensive silent auction and a chance to win fabulous raffle prizes. Sponsored by Friends of Galena Public Library, Inc. All proceeds from the event benefit the Galena Public Library.

Dogs have been found to be patient and attentive listeners who never feel an urge to correct pronunciation, thus offering children a chance to enjoy reading aloud without stress. The recommended age for this activity is 5 to 10 years.

Pub crawl starts at Boone's Place and will continue down Main St. to participating local establishments.

Galena’s best-ranging from restaurateurs to winemakers and cheesecake bakers to caterers-will gather together to celebrate “Serving the Best” for the Galena Art & Recreation Center.

This year will also feature “one of the best” serving as an event judge. David Hammond, a food columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, will be at the event to name his choice for the ‘Best of Taste.’ In addition to writing his weekly column, “Food Detective,” Hammond also is the founder and moderator of the LTHForum.com, a 9,000 member Chicago-based culinary chat site.

In addition to David providing his votes for ‘Best of Taste,’ Taste attendees will also be casting their vote for best appetizer, entrée, dessert and locally produced taste.
